CAFCASS

Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (CAFCASS) CYMRU

CAFCASS provides expert independent advice to Courts on the interests of children involved in family proceedings. All cases are referred to us by a court or high court.

For a child, court proceedings can often be complex and difficult to understand. CAFCASS CYMRU is committed to providing a voice for any child involved in such proceedings. We advise Courts upon the best course of action to ensure that a child's needs and best interests are addressed.

The child's future welfare is at the heart of every decision made and every action taken by CAFCASS CYMRU. Our highly-experienced Social Workers are able to advise on the needs of children who have been separated from their families, protecting them from harm. They also assist parents resolve disputes about living arrangements for their children following separation and divorce.

From here, you can find out more about the work of CAFCASS CYMRU and the support that it provides to children, young people and their families. Also available to read and download are our booklets, leaflets and other publications.
