Blaenau Gwent Local Access TV via the Red Button

Residents of Blaenau Gwent can now access a range of council services through their television set, mobile phone or Wii due to the launch of an innovative information channel - Looking Local.


The Council has developed a special TV channel called 'Blaenau Gwent Looking Local' and anyone with Sky, Virgin or broadband connected Freeview boxes can find out more by pressing the interactive button on their remote.


The service is completely FREE to use and allows residents to:

  • Report a missed bin
  • Abandoned car
  • Graffiti
  • Broken street lights
  • Request services or leaflets
  • Find out about local amenities
  • Opening times
  • and a lot more.

Sometimes when residents just want a quick piece of information and they don't feel inclined to boot up their PC, the Blaenau Gwent Looking Local service is available on their TV, from the comfort of their sofa.

So press the red button and click on Looking Local

Zoom works with children and young people aged 8 to 18 and provides them with access to a year-round programme of film and digital media activities, services, and pathways to training, education and employment.

Zoom brokers and develops creative collaborations between communities, education and the film and media industry. Zoom is a social enterprise in the form of a company limited by guarantee. We are also a registered charity.

Each year, Zoom delivers a programme of film and media activities including participatory workshops (film-making, editing), an international young people's film festival, peer-led forums and advocacy and signposting services to industry training and education opportunities.
