Transitions
Transitions is a new service based at the Citadel in Tredegar and also have outreach currently at the Hearts Of The Valleys Integrated Children's Centre, Blaina. The service provides a free confidential counselling and support service to a range of people throughout Blaenau Gwent who are experiencing emotional and psychological distress as a result of - trauma, abuse, bereavement, relationship difficulties and domestic violence.
The service includes one-to-one counselling as well as family sessions. The sessions are carried out by experienced staff who are either fully trained or at an advanved stage of training. They abide by the framework of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and the Association of Family Therapists.
At present they offer availability during the week, including early evenings, and hope to soon include Saturday mornings. Potential clients may self-refer or be sent via their G.P's, Health Visitor, School and/or Support services
