If you have been bullied, harassed or discriminated for any reason? VALREC can help, the Valleys Regional Equality Council are dedicated to offering advice and support to those who need it.
The Valleys Regional Equality Council (Valrec) is an organisation that provides leadership and promotes good practice in the fields of Equality, Diversity and Human Rights by;
- Encouraging awareness and good practice on equality, diversity and human rights
- Promoting equality of opportunity between people in the different groups protected by discrimination law
- Working towards the elimination of unlawful discrimination and harassment
- Promoting good relations among different communities and between these communities and the wider society
To achieve its objectives, Valrec deliveres work in 4 main areas:
Policy Development
Valrec assist public authorities in complying with their duties to promote equality, including giving help with community consultation exercises and access to services. We also advise other agencies on their equality and diversity policies and procedures.
Community Support
Valrec promotes community participation, cohesion and good relations among different communities and between those communities and wider society.
Assistance to individuals
Valrec are equipped to take on casework relating to discrimination and/or harassment. We provide help and support to victims of harassment, violence and other hate crime.
Public Education
Valrec provide public information/education and are a provider of training on equality promotion and sound equality practice, promoting awareness and good practice in work for equality and diversity.
