Shaw Trust
Shaw Trust is held every Thursday 10am-noon at Nantyglo Communities First Office. So if you’re claiming ESA, Incapacity or sickness benefits or want to work come along. You could get up to £200 job start grand. Shaw Trust will offer you all the support and guidance you need... They will support you to access FREE employment-related courses that are suited to your needs, One to one support to help you fill out application forms and train you on effective interview techniques. C-card Scheme
C-card scheme will now be available at Nantyglo Communities First Offices, Unit 13 Pond Road, Nantyglo every Monday from 12.3-pm to 1.30pm. This scheme offers a confidential advice service to young people ages 14+ providing sexual health advice, information and resources. This is part of the Welsh Assembly Government initiative to reduce teenage pregnancies and sexual transmitted infections across Wales. Youth Club
Calling all 11+’s. are you bored and fed up, want to try something new then why not call at the Youth Drop In Facility, every Monday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at the Action for Children Centre (The Hive), Winchestown Family Centre, Waunheulog, Nantyglo. This is your chance to develop your own centre that will provide activities and projects that you choose to organise. Why not call in and see what is going on. It’s FREE admission. Brynmawr Athletics Club
Brynmawr Athletics Club is running at Brynmawr Comprehensive School every Thursday. Ages 9 upwards are welcome and you don’t have to be an athlete to participate. Events include track sprinting, hurdles, cross country, shot put, javelin and much more! The junior section is from 5pm to 6pm and the senior section is from 6pm to 7pm. Opportunities include getting active, keeping fit, competitions or simply just to have fun. Look forward to seeing you.
1st Blaina Scout Group now currently has vacancies in all sections of the group. It’s held at the New Headquarters (The Old Coed Cae Community Centre). The groups include the Beaver Scouts aged for 6 to 8 years on a Wednesday at 5.30, also the Cub Scouts aged for 8 to 10½ years on a Tuesday from 6pm to 7.30pm and finally the Scouts aged for 10½ to 14 years on a Tuesday from 7.15pm to 9pm.
