UPDATES: BAG (Brynithel Activities Group)

We have a litter pick on the 3rd June starting at 10.00am and finishing at 12.00pm. Linked to this are free tickets for those taking part to see a show being performed at Llanhilleth Institute at 7.00pm on the 3rd

On the 10th July we are having an Information Day at the Community Centre starting at 11.00am and finishing at 2.00pm. We hope that the different organisations using the Community Centre will come along and give information on what they do etc. There will also be a table top sale, free of charge but a donation towards a raffle is all that is required. There will be other things going on, face painting etc and hopefully different demonstrations, but I will be able to give you more information on this after the next meeting.

We are planning a trip to Swansea on the 6th August and those who have taken part in 3 of our litter picks will go free. If parents want to accompany their children and haven’t been involved in the litter picks they will be charged £5.00. Also if there are any seats spare then we will open up the trip to the community at £5.00 a seat.

We are also looking for volunteers to join the BAG committee. We have been involved in environmental projects raising money for work to be carried such as Penygraig Terrace and the garden around the Community Centre. We have also been successful in obtaining grant money to run a dance class for children every Friday at the community centre, but this will be coming to an end shortly.

Next week it is also planned to hold litter picks on the 1st June at Swfrydd from 10.00am to 12.00pm and Aberbeeg from 1.00pm to 3.00pm. Children taking part will be given free tickets for the performance at the Institute on the 3rd June at 7.00pm. Children under 12 will have to be accompanied by a paying adult.
