Youth Inclusion Support Panel

The Youth Inclusion Support Panel targets young people who are at risk of social exclusion or becoming involved in anti-social and/or offending behaviour. They were established to ensure that children/young people (8-16 yrs) receive preventative services at an early age.

A young person must satisfy two out of the following criteria to be reffered -
Involvement/and or suspected involvement in criminal activity, anti-social behaviour and at risk of school exclusion

Multi-agency concern/knowledge (2 or more agencies)
Truancy/exclusion
Drug/Substance Use
Sibling/family member/friend's involvement in offending/known to YOT
Police Reprimand/Final Warning/ABC/ASBO/ known offending
Living in Local Authority Care (Looked After Child)
Regularly missing from home (twice)
Appearance on Social Services Child Protection Register
Referrals to the YISP will come from mainstream services/public agencies that have concerns about the behaviour of a young person they are involved with.
Panels are made up of a number of representatives of different agencies (e.g. police, schools, health and social services). The main emphasis of a panel's work is to ensure that children and their families, at the earliest possible opportunity, can access mainstream public services.
